Batch Jobs for Reprocessing Failed qRFC Queues in SMQ1 and SMQ2

In SAP systems that rely on queued RFC (qRFC) communication, blocked or inconsistent Logical Units of Work (LUWs) can cause serious disruptions to inbound and outbound processing. To ensure stable system operations and avoid long-term queue blockages, SAP provides two standard background reports:

RSQIWKEX – for inbound qRFC queues (SMQR/SMQ2)

RSQOWKEX – for outbound qRFC queues (SMQS/SMQ1)

These reports can be scheduled as periodic background jobs to automatically reset LUW statuses and restore queue processing without manual intervention.

Monitoring

  • SM37 – Job execution logs
  • SMQ1/SMQ2 – Queue processing state
  • ST22 – Dumps related to queue processing
  • SM21 – System log for communication errors
  • SLG1 – Application Log: Display Logs
